How points are allocated in 2009:
SCT will use 18 selected ACT Cross Country Club events for our club winter pointscore competition. The points allocated for each race will be: 100 points for 1st place in the race, 99 for 2nd, 98 for 3rd etc. For relay events, points are allocated on fastest times (100 for fastest, 99 for second fastest etc), with all relay legs counting. Minimum points for a finish are 30.

The list of events for 2009:
1 Regatta Point, 2 Anzac Relays, 3 Cooleman Ridge, 4 Stromlo Forest Park, 5 Half Marathon 5k, 6 Canberra Half Marathon, 7 Lotus Bay, 8 North Lyneham, 9 Longstaff/Pennington, 10 Stromlo Forest Park Road, 11 Symonston, 12 Molonglo Gorge, 13 ACT Cross Country Champs, 14 Googong, 15 Goorooyaroo, 16 Runners Shop, 17 Dunrossil Drive, 18 Mt Majura.

You may race both short and long races on Saturday afternoon and score points in each.

For results in mixed races (most of the CCC events), female results are tallied seperately (100 points for first place etc). Male results are tallied "overall" (for example, if a female wins the race outright and a male finishes second, the female scores 100 points and the male scores 99 points as the first male in the race, rather than 100).

The final result is based on the runner's best 12 races throughout the season. For the SCT winter pointscore the age-groups used are those used by the ACT Cross Country Club (not ACT Athletics age-groups), with U14 being the lowest age-group (if you are U10, you run as U14 for SCT Awards). If you change age-groups during the season you will carry your points forward into the older age-group. SCT Awards will be based on your oldest Cross Country Club age-group for the season.

The maximum possible score for the season is 1200 points (100 x 12 races) for 12 wins. In the event of a tie in any age-group, the winner of the perpetual trophy will be the person with the most wins during the season.
