Ewen's Running Diary - 1988

This page is my running diary from 1988, the year I turned 31. I was training and racing in Sydney, doing a lot of running in Lane Cove National Park with the River Runners and on Sundays at various locations with the Sydney Striders. Track racing was usually at Hensley Field in Botany. I was pleased to run under 10 minutes for 3000m on the track and break my PB in the City to Surf. I ran 3,762 km - an average of just over 72 km per week.

My best results during 1988 were: 800m - 2:21.0, 3000m - 9:56.6, 5000m - 17:37.4, 1 mile - 5:07, 10k road - 36:25, 10 mile road - 62:29, Half Marathon - 83:33, City to Surf 14k - 53:33.

16 Part of the half marathon course - firstly with George, then Bruce, Malcolm and Peter. 71:17 (4:27/km). Slow early, strong second half. Saw Terry Mac and Jenny Walker.
